During a meeting between Gavi CEO Dr. Sania Nishtar and Finance Minister Ahmed Shide, Ethiopia was commended for achieving WHO Maturity Level 3 in health system performance — a milestone reflecting national progress and continental influence. Minister Ahmed highlighted successful immunization campaigns, including measles, polio, and the Big Catch-Up initiative that reached millions of children. Both sides agreed to expand collaboration through innovative financing to further strengthen Ethiopia’s health infrastructure and immunization outcomes.
