Ethiopia has inaugurated a state-of-the-art research complex at the Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI), featuring 40 fully equipped laboratories and advanced platforms to support globally aligned medical research. A key highlight is the bioequivalence centre, which ensures the safety, quality, and effectiveness of locally produced medicines—reducing reliance on imports and strengthening pharmaceutical self-sufficiency. The facility is designed to accelerate diagnostics, improve healthcare delivery, and enhance preparedness for future public health challenges. This development reflects a growing demand for advanced medical equipment and technologies that enable high-precision research, testing, and scalable healthcare solutions across emerging markets.
