China and Africa CDC Launch Joint Training to Strengthen Public Health and Disease Surveillance Across Africa
China and the Africa CDC have launched a three-week public health training workshop at the Chinese-built Africa CDC headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The program gathers 30 experts from 16 African countries to focus on lab detection, genome sequencing, and quality management in disease control. Chinese and African officials emphasized that the initiative strengthens scientific collaboration and marks a key step in building a shared China-Africa public health community. Future projects will include early outbreak warning systems, disease surveillance, and the use of big data in health management.
