MSF Establishes Long-Term Outbreak Response Hub in Southwest Ethiopia

Médecins Sans Frontières has launched a project in Southwest Ethiopia, supporting over three million people in malaria-, measles-, and cholera-prone areas. In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, MSF is bolstering Jemu and Aday Ababa health centres and Bachuma Primary Hospital, including a six-bed isolation ward for rapid outbreak response. The project upgrades referral systems, IPC measures, water and sanitation infrastructure, and provides essential medicines, equipment, and staff training. These efforts aim to create a more resilient health system capable of managing recurring public health emergencies.
