Ethiopia to Anchor New Africa CDC Warehouse for Faster Health Emergency Response
The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) is bolstering emergency preparedness in Ethiopia by constructing a temporary warehouse at its Addis Ababa headquarters, expected to be completed in 2025 with support from the World Food Programme (WFP). Strategically located in a major logistics hub, the facility will be equipped with advanced cold chain systems to ensure rapid, safe distribution of vital medical supplies across Africa during crises. This investment not only positions Ethiopia as a central node for continental health security but also strengthens Africa CDC’s long term vision of building resilient, Africa-led emergency response systems.
